Midnight Past
The Bulletin Clock struck twelve — then kept ticking into a world nobody planned for. Twenty years later, you keep a mountain hangar, a bush plane named Geraldine, and just enough fuel for one more sortie into the High Country.
Premise
Midnight is past. You're still here.
Not a single bomb — collapse by a thousand cuts until the clock read twelve and moved on. Cities emptied. Light pollution died with them. The sky came back.
You are the pilot at a cliffside hangar in the San Juan high country. Fuel is the clock you still control. Every flight is a calculation: range rings, wind, weight, and whether curiosity is worth the gallons home.
On foot, the wild is not empty — your mind fills it. In the air, Geraldine is hope. Your dog waits at the strip. Torn Bulletin posters still say what nobody wanted to hear.
Midnight Past is one minute after twelve — the world already in the next minute. Now you live twenty years into that minute.
The world
Fuel is the clock. The plane is home.
A quiet high country after collapse — one hangar, one plane, one dog, and the range you can still afford to reach.
- 01
The Bulletin Clock
Civilization did not end in a flash. It ran down until twelve — and kept going. You live twenty years into that minute.
- 02
Geraldine
Your bush plane is shelter, range, and nerve. Every sortie is a question of fuel, weather, and how far curiosity can stretch the tank.
- 03
The hangar mesa
Cliffside strip, workshop, frozen wall clock, dog at the door. Home between flights — the one place the map still names.
- 04
Stars returned
When the cities went dark, the Milky Way came back. Night flights are beautiful, lonely, and unforgiving.
